18th Council Meeting

The Union of NGOs of Islamic World (UNIW) held its 18^th Council Meeting on 23 January 2015 in Yenibosna Gonenl Hotel–Turkey. Starting with the Kur’anı Kerim recitation, Attn. Ali Kurt, Secretary General of UNIW, made the opening remarks of the meeting.

After welcoming speech, the participants were provided information about recent activities of UNIW in latest period. A general assessment was provided about the events and organizations either directly organized or indirectly participated by UNIW.

After the assessments of recent period activities of UNIW, the meeting aimed to assess the outcomes of the International Family Workshop and preparatory works for 2nd International Family Conference, Syria and Central Asia activities of Humanitarian Aid Platform, preparatory works for 2015 Youth Assembly, 12th International Youth Gathering in Malaysia, Country Universality of Zakat Between Actual and Hope Conference, Desks Project, UNIW membership applications, International “Rabia is a Will” Activity, NGO Academy, Annual NGO Almanac and the final status of Sokullu complex under restoration.

It was further decided to organize 19^th UNIW Council Meeting in Turkey at a future date to be determined considering Ramadan and to organize 20th UNIW Council Meeting in Lebanon under the hospitality of Imam Said.
