Lebanon Regional Country NGOs Meeting

UNIW started its regional NGO meetings with its members in Lebanon in order to strengthen communication and sharing with its members from 66 countries. Our members in Lebanon and the UNIW secretariat attended the meeting held online.

The meeting started with the opening speech of UNIW Secretary General, Attorney Ali Kurt. Ali Kurt briefly summarized the activities of UNIW. Referring to the explosion in Beirut, the Secretary General said, “I wish mercy from Allah to those who died and recovery to the injured. Lebanon was also experiencing some economic difficulties before this explosion, now this picture has become a little more severe. It also had political repercussions. Especially western countries and France have re-emerging ambitions. We pray for you, may Allah be with you. We announced to our NGOs in Turkey and all our member organizations around the world that we would start a campaign about Lebanon, and within this framework, we made calls for help in the context of how sustainable support can be provided.” he said.

Afterwards, the participants voiced their opinions. They gave detailed information about the latest developments in Lebanon. They expressed their satisfaction with the UNIW’s handling of regional problems in this way. The meeting ended with the wishes.
