Meeting of Rising Islamophobia in the West

Recently, the statements of French President Emanuel Macron, which have been rising in the Western world and containing Islamophobia, have caused a great reaction in the Islamic geography. Expressing its reaction on this issue by making a press statement with its 354 members from 66 countries, the UNIW brought together opinion leaders from all over the world in an online meeting titled “Meeting to Condemn the Rising Islamophobia in the West” to emphasize that Islamophobia is not a freedom of thought.

UNIW Honorary President Necmi Sadıkoğlu, UNIW Deputy Secretary General Eyüp Akbal, TGTV Management and Executive Board Chairman Atty. Hamza Akbulut, Secretary General of the International Union of Lawyers (UHUB), Atty. Necati Ceylan and Istanbul Women and Women’s Organizations Association (İKADDER) President Funda Akyol, Yemen Friendship and Solidarity Association President Dr Abdulraqeb Abdullah Hussein Obad participated as speakers.

Prof Ali Karadagi, Secretary General of the World Union of Muslim Scholars, Ahmad Azam Ab Rahman, President of Global Peace Mission Malaysia (GPM) from Malaysia, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, Secretary General of the Kashmiri American Council from the USA, Cemiyetu’l Wayi vel Muvasi Chairman Imad Said from Lebanon, Et Tecemmu’ul İktisadiyi’l Cezairi Chairman Aicha Bel Hadjar from Algeria, Muntede’z Zehra li’l Mer’eti’l Maghribiyye Director Dr Soumaia Ben Khaldoon from Morocco, Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) Chief Counselor Dr Fadila Grine and Head of Social Agency for Welfare and Advancement in Bangladesh (SAWAB) SM Rasheduzzaman from Bangladesh made speeches.

With the declaration published in three languages at the end of the meeting, the rising Islamophobia in the West was condemned together.
