16th Council Meeting

16th Council Meeting of Union of NGOs of Islamic World (UNIW) was held on 21st February 2014 in Sana, capital city of Yemen, with the participation of Council members from Malaysia, Kuwait, Bangladesh, Somali and Lebanon. Starting with the Kur’anı Kerim recitation, Attn. Ali Kurt, Secretary General of UNIW, made the opening remarks of the meeting.

During the meeting, Activity Report after February 2013 period, humanitarian aids towards Syria, activities of Humanitarian Aid Platform, Balkan Cooperation Project issues and family workshops and 2nd International Family Conference preparatory works were discussed. The Council also negotiated about Youth Gatherings and 2015 Youth Assembly.

Upon discussions on the recent arrangements in the bylaw, assessment of new membership applications, 2014- 2015 activity plan, NGO Academy, Annual NGO Almanac, Fiqh Consultation Committee and Crisis Regions issues were evaluated and the delegates exchanged information about the chaotic environment and ongoing cruelties in Egypt, Bangladesh, Syria, Eastern Turkistan, Arakan, Central Africa, Mali.
