The 27th UNIW Council Meeting was convened at the Istanbul Akgün Hotel on January 11, 2020, with the participation of council members representing 20 different countries.

The first session of the program, which commenced with Quranic recitation, began with the reading of the agenda and the opening address of UNIW Secretary General Atty. Ali Kurt. Secretary General Kurt delivered a comprehensive evaluation regarding activities executed since the previous Council Meeting, providing concise briefings on recent endeavors and updating members on ongoing and planned projects.

Subsequently, Atty. Ali Kurt shared details of the 2019 Kuala Lumpur Summit, which he attended, with council members. Emphasizing the historical significance of the summit, Kurt stated: "This summit constituted a vital milestone. I pray that its momentum continues and brings blessings to the Islamic world." Continuing his address, Kurt briefed council members through a detailed presentation on membership admissions, resignations, and member dues.

Regarding activities centered around the UNIW Humanitarian Relief Platform (HRP / İYP), Commission President Musab Aydın delivered a presentation detailing meetings held and operations conducted within the scope of HRP.

Following this, Young UNIW President Serdar Bayram provided updates on youth initiatives. Bayram stated: "We kindly request our council members to nominate one young representative on behalf of their institutions. Thus, alongside council meetings, we can gather with youth representatives and execute vital initiatives under the Young UNIW umbrella."

At the conclusion of the council meeting, membership applications submitted by 19 new organizations were deliberated and formally approved. UNIW Secretary General Atty. Ali Kurt thanked all attendees for their participation. The meeting concluded with closing prayers and a commemorative family photograph.
