Global Peace Mission Malaysia (GPM)
Short Introduction
Global Peace Mission (GPM) was founded to give support to the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, which took place in 2001. Later on, it enlarged its area of activity from urgent aid to clean water, micro finance, education, agriculture, Ramadan, Religious sacrifice programs in many countries such as Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cambodia, Chechnya, Indonesia, Iraq, Kashmir, Kosovo, Lebanon, Myanmar, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Turkey, Thailand and Uzbekistan. GPM is also a member of OIC Humanitarian Forum (OICHF).
President
Ahmad Azam Ab Rahman
He was born in 21 June 1960, he completed MA program in Stephen F. Austen State University, in the Texas State of the US. He is the president of Future Global Network, a network of NGOs in Kuala Lumpur, which aims the peaceful coexistence of humanity.
In 2003-2009, he played an active role in the International Movement for a Just World which based in Kuala Lumpur. He carried out the presidency of Berlin-based Transparency of International Malaysia between 2000 and 2004. Although he had been the president of an influential Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) between 1997 and 2005.
In August 2005, the Malaysian government was awarded him the Medal of Honor by the Malaysian Youth Council for his contributions to youth development.
Since 2005, he has been a founding member of the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World, and also serves as the Council Member and Deputy Secretary General in charge of Asia-Pacific.
He knows English in advanced level, Arabic in medium level. Ahmad Azam is married and has five children.

Ahmad Fahmi Bin Mohd Samsudin
Graduated with Bachelor of Economics from International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), he has extensive background on youth activism and development, in both national and international stage. He is also an executive for Koperasi Belia Islam Malaysia Bhd. which is Malaysia’s maiden Shari’ah-based financial institution since its establishment in 1977 and an ardent humanitarian activist.
