Lawyers Association

Short Introduction
Lawyers Association was founded in Istanbul in 1970. It is the oldest and largest law association of Turkey. The center is in Istanbul Findikzade. The members are lawyers, and there are approximately 1,700 members which include university faculty members, deputies, parliamentary presidents, and lawyers who had been, and who are still working as ministers. Lawyers Association is the founding member of the Platform of Law Superintendence.

Activities
The Law Society publishes a judicial magazine called “Ideal Law”, which contains articles, current legal developments, reports, interviews and biographies of jurist figures.
The association organizes conferences and panels in line with its aims. These conferences were presented with titles such as “Law State”, “International Law and War”, “Civil Rights in the European Convention on Human Rights”, “Democracy and Law Superintendence”.
The Association of Lawyers organized the “International Lawyers Conference” in 1996. In 2009, the International Lawyers Union (UHUB) was established with the cooperation of 22 countries including Germany, England, South Africa, Sudan, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Tunisia, Belgium and Kuwait.
The association has seminars and training activities on human rights law, public law, private law and current law problems; these seminars are offered by lecturers and lawyers specializing in the field.

President
Atty. Cavit Tatli
He was born in 1976 in Corum’s Kargi district and completed his primary and secondary education in Kargi. He started his university life in Istanbul Faculty of Law in 1995 and graduated in 2000. Since 2001, he has founded Tatli Law Office and started to practice as a freelance lawyer. In 2010, he worked as a member of the Lawyers Association and became the President in 2011, and continues to serve in this position. He writes articles in various newspapers and magazines, works in national and international platforms and associations. Additionally, he is a member of the Refugee Rights Association ASKON.
