Social Agency for Welfare and Advancement in Bangladesh (SAWAB)
Brief Presentation
Since its foundation, SAWAB has been providing services to the people of Bangladesh and the Rohingyan refugees in the areas where urgent aid, education, clean water and religious services are needed. In 2013, it opened “Mentor International School” which provides education for middle schoolers. It plans to provide health service by having its own medical center, “Dispensary Charitable Kanchanpur” which would provide medical services to more than 1,000 people each year.

S.M.Rasheduzzaman
Rasheduzzaman, who was born in 1963 in Bangladesh, graduated from Dhakka University, Department of English Literature in 1984 and got his master’s degree in 1985.
He worked in following institutions:
Muslim Aid Bangladesh (1991-2006)
Beacon Academy (1990-1993)
Muslim Welfare Union Agency (1995-1999)
Just Academy English Language Institute (1998-2001)
Shiddheswary University (2004-2007)
He took active roles in strategic management and planning, education of girls and women, fought against poverty, micro-finance, social and self-improvement, formal and common education, protecting orphans and fraternity of Muslim non-governmental organisations.
He serves as the administrator of Social Agency for Welfare and Advancement in Bangladesh since 1994.
He has published following articles: “Cutting Down Hunger: An Islamic Point of View”, “Development of Human Resources: An Islamic Point of View”, “Education: Islamic Points” and “Islam and Humanity”.
Rasheduzzaman is a council member of UNIW and can speak English and Arabic on an intermediate level. He is married and father of six children.
