Istanbul, UNIW Headquarters, 9th January 2013 – The Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (UNIW) had further advance in the global dimension as it leads the coordination of dozens of its civil society organization members, both in Turkey and across the world, for an international humanitarian aid campaign, “A Bread, A Blanket for Syria”, to accommodate the well-being of war victims in Syria and deliver assistance for them to survive the winter season.
The campaign was launched in an international press conference event which are organized and participated by more than ten countries, simultaneously.
The event started with the opening speech by UNIW Secretary General, Atty. Ali Kurt, as he address the commencement of the campaign to Malaysia, Pakistan, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Yemen, Jordan, Egypt, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, America, Belgium, and as well as to the live press in attendance.
UNIW Honorary Chairman, Necmi Sadikoglu; UNIW Deputy Secretary General cum UNIW Turkey Representative, Dr. Fahri Solak; Chairman of TGTV, Atty. Hamza Akbulut and MUSIAD Foreign Relations Officer, Eyup Akbal; participated in the event, together with various press members and non-governmental organizations.
