5th Anniversary of Yemen-Turkey Friendship and Solidarity Association

With the slogan “Renewed Cooperation and Friendship”, Yemen-Turkey Friendship and Solidarity Association had celebrated its 5th Anniversary in a cordial event attended by prominent guests from Yemen and Turkey.

Among the attendees are Media Attache of Yemen Embassy, Mr Talal Jammal; the leader of Yemeni community in Turkey, Mr Yasser Sheikh; and President of Uwais al-Qarni Trust, Mr.Salah Batis and Sheikh Hamoud Al Makhlafi.

From Turkey, the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Turkey, Dr. Yassin Aktay, along with the Secretary General of the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (UNIW), Atty. Ali Kurt had attended the event.

In the speech by the association’s President, Dr. Abdul Rakeeb Abbad spoke on the association achievements and gave his thanks to all that had contributed to the success, especially the previous tenure committees, and he welcomes the appointment of their new committees.

Under the patronage of the Union of NGOs in the Islamic World (UNIW), a workshop was held on the humanitarian situation in Yemen and also on Yemeni refugee communities.

On the event of the celebration, the Yemen-Turkey Friendship and Solidarity Association also signed memorandums of understanding (MoU) with other associations, mainly with Yemen International Development Agency, Global Patience, Uwais Al-Qarni Trust, Dar-ul Ilk Trust, Karaunah Ummah Trust and the Association of Strategic Thoughts Group.
