5th Consultation Meeting with UNIW’s Arab Members Held at ICYF Headquarters

UNIW members of Arab-origin countries were gathered for the 5th Extended Secretariat Meeting, held at ICYF Headquarters on 6th December 2019. In the meeting, UNIW activities and the agenda of the Islamic world were consulted.

After a brief opening speech by the Secretary General of UNIW, Atty. Ali Kurt pass the floor to Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF)’s Project Coordinator, Mr Muhammed Mahli to make his presentation. He presented the general information about ICYF, its activities, and answered some questions at the end of the presentation. He also mentioned that ICYF was happy to host the meeting.

Atty. Ali Kurt then proceeds to share on the 2nd Workshop conducted by the International Family Institute and the studies conducted by the institution. He said, “Family is the building blocks of our society and currently under serious threat. We are making important researches on this subject. Thus I would like to request you, our esteemed members, to bring together the women-family institutions in your countries for us to work together on this important issue. With the awareness emanating from our unity, we can produce the appropriate laws and conventions in accordance to our values, instead of adhering to the conventions imposed on us by the western countries.”

Atty. Ali Kurt share his reviews on UNIW members and Istanbul-based NGOs that are working for Palestinian cause, and of the International Conference on Ethnic Discrimination in Israel that had taken place on 29-30 November 2019. He stated that important works had been done for the Palestinian cause and it will always be pursued.

In the meeting, Young UNIW gave detailed information on the 22nd Education and Training Camp to the participants.

At the end of the meeting, participants expressed their support for the works that had been done.
