Visit to the Consulate General of India
We visited the Consulate General of India at Istanbul on 12 March 2020.
In the visit, the Secretary General of UNIW, Atty. Ali Kurt met with the Consul General of India, J.P. Singh, and discussed on regional developments and the activities carried out by the organization. During our friendly discussion, we briefed him about our institution, activities and our members from India. We also had the opportunity to congratulate Mr. Singh, who was just appointed a few months ago, succeeding the previous Consul General, Mr Azar Khan, and wish him great success in his new position. Meanwhile, we have expressed our concerns regarding the violence against Muslims in an increasing trend in both India and Kashmir.
Mr Singh had received our visit with great pleasure. He stated that, “Turkey has long historical and cultural ties with India. UNIW is an important institution and plays a significant role in the Islamic world. I am very glad to meet with you.” The Consul General also said that they are pursuing to improve the relations between the two countries to a higher level.
At the end of the visit, Secretary General Atty. Ali Kurt had presented the most recent publications by UNIW to Consul General J.P. Singh.
