Membership Application

Membership Process

IDSB membership consists of the application, review, Council evaluation, and General Assembly approval stages.

A civil society organization that meets the membership eligibility requirements adopts a decision to join IDSB through its competent governing body. The decision must clearly designate the person who will represent the organization before the Union.

Preparation of the Application Form

The IDSB Membership Application Form must be completed in full and signed by the organization's authorized representative.

Submission of Application Documents

The membership application form must be accompanied by the organization's decision to join IDSB, together with letters of recommendation from two organizations that are already members of IDSB.

Secretariat Review

The application file is reviewed by the Secretariat. If any documents or information are missing, the applicant organization will be contacted and requested to provide the necessary additions.

Council Evaluation

The application is evaluated at the first Council meeting. The Council reviews whether the organization fulfills the membership requirements and whether the application file is complete and appropriate.

Notification to Members

Applications approved by the Council are circulated to all members together with the General Assembly agenda at least fifteen days before the meeting at which membership applications will be voted upon.
