Flood Disaster in Nepal: Urgent Humanitarian Appeal
In an urgent humanitarian appeal submitted to the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (UNIW), our member organization Islami Sangh Nepal reported an immediate need for food, safe drinking water, temporary shelter, clothing, hygiene supplies and other basic necessities in the flood-affected areas.
Call Details
Severe flooding that struck Nepal on 26 August 2026 has caused extensive destruction in several communities, particularly Syafrubesi, Tamor and Trisuli Bazar. Numerous homes, businesses and bridges have been damaged or destroyed, leaving affected communities facing serious difficulties in accessing basic necessities.
The situation is particularly critical for vulnerable groups, including children, women, the elderly and persons with disabilities.
The Government of Nepal has intensified search, rescue and relief operations through the mobilization of the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepali Army, while the Social Welfare Council has also appealed to national and international NGOs and humanitarian organizations to support emergency relief efforts.
Islami Sangh Nepal Mobilizes for Emergency Relief
UNIW member Islami Sangh Nepal has mobilized to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the disaster. Based on needs identified on the ground, the organization aims to deliver essential relief supplies to affected families and communities.
However, given the scale of the disaster and the limited resources currently available, urgent financial and humanitarian support is needed to expand relief operations and reach more people in need.
UNIW Calls on Member Organizations and Humanitarian Partners to Support Nepal
As the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (UNIW), we call upon all our member organizations, humanitarian organizations and donors to support, within their capacities, the emergency relief efforts being carried out by Islami Sangh Nepal.
Every contribution will help provide essential assistance to affected families, alleviate suffering and restore hope to communities struggling to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of the disaster.
