International Relations Desk Meeting

Within the scope of UNIW International Family Institute (IFI / UAE) working desk meetings, the second online meeting was convened around the International Relations Desk chaired by Aicha Bel Hadjar, with the participation of desk members, heads of other desks, and experts.

The meeting commenced with the opening address of UNIW Secretary General Atty. Ali Kurt, who shared briefings regarding working desk meetings. Kurt stated: "In the preceding working desk meeting, the Family Jurisprudence Desk and the International Agreements & Public Policy Desk gathered together. We shared the decisions taken in that meeting with each of you individually. As you know, we have six working desks. By gathering with different desks every 15 days, we will complete sessions for all desks insha'Allah. Our next desk meeting is scheduled with the Strategy and Literature Development Desk upon the request of Prof. Dr. Khadija Mufid," before giving the floor to Women, Family and Youth Commission (KAGE) Co-President Dr. Rabiye Yılmaz to summarize past activities.

Dr. Rabiye Yılmaz briefly presented activities accomplished under IFI, emphasizing that we are passing through a historical period where the family is exposed to heightened risks.

Continuing her speech, Yılmaz stated: "For this reason, our International Family Charter carries paramount importance, as highlighted in every High Advisory Board meeting and across all assemblies. As working desks, we must aim to study its sub-clauses and concrete action plan. Necessary efforts in this direction have commenced. May Allah reward your participation."

Following Yılmaz, International Relations Desk President Aicha Bel Hadjar delivered a address outlining the desk's activities and targets. Hadjar stated: "The primary and paramount goal of the International Relations Desk is to spread family awareness worldwide. Our target audience is not restricted solely to Islamic NGOs; on the contrary, it encompasses institutions and organizations that hold solid principles and protect the family institution, even if non-Muslim. Our project transcends these international conventions and local statutes. As a duty of humanity, we must protect the family structure in accordance with universal human values," explaining the tasks to be undertaken by the desk.

The meeting concluded with closing prayers following participant evaluations.
