Call for Support for the Reconstruction of Dar'a

Der'a, located in southern Syria, is trying to rebuild not only its physical infrastructure but also its social structure after years of war. In this context, Der'a local government called for international support for education and health investments that will contribute to the future of the region.

Educational Investments to Build the Future

The Tekvin Education Center, which is planned to be implemented in the East Kaşif District of Der'a, is one of the most comprehensive education projects in the region.

The center, which is planned to be built with a budget of approximately 1,770,000 USD, will provide education opportunities for 850 students.

  • It is aimed to ensure that,

  • Half of the students will be children of martyrs and veterans and disabled individuals,

  • There will be a mosque, a conference hall and a dormitory for 300 people.

In addition, it is aimed to establish 10 Sharia High Schools (Imam Hatip-like schools) throughout the city, to develop scholarship collaborations with Turkey for university students and to benefit from Türkiye's experience in the education center model. It is also among the priority needs.

Strengthening the Health Infrastructure

Two strategic projects stand out in order to revive the health services in Der'a.

First, the restoration of the Sayda Cardiac Surgery Hospital building has been completed, and the supply of operating room equipment and cardiology devices is needed for the hospital to become operational.

In the long term, due to the inadequacy of the existing state hospital. It is aimed to implement the Der'a Medical City (City Hospital) project. This investment, which will create a modern health infrastructure, is expected to contribute to the health services of the region for many years.
