1st International Imams and Preachers Conference
UNIW and the International Organization for Mosques co-organized the 1st International Imams and Preachers Conference on combating extremism and terrorism.
The Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (UNIW) and the Saudi-based International Commission for Mosques co-organized the 1st International Imams and Preachers Conference under the theme 'The Role of Imams and Preachers in Countering Extremism, Radicalism, and Terrorism' on April 29-30, 2016, in Istanbul.
The conference underscored mosques as vital centers of spiritual life and highlighted the indispensable role religious leaders hold in promoting moderation, mutual brotherhood, and guiding youth against destructive deviant ideologies. Renowned scholars from over 30 countries participated in formulating comprehensive educational frameworks and community outreach standards.
