The 31st International Islamic Unity Conference, centered on the theme 'Social Security and Its Impact on the Unity of the Ummah', was held in Tehran on December 5-7, 2017, organized by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought. The conference brought together over 500 scholars, NGO leaders, and academics from across the Islamic world, with the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (UNIW) represented by Secretary General Atty. Ali Kurt.

The sessions addressed pressing issues confronting the Muslim world, emphasizing the preservation of social peace, sectarian reconciliation, and mutual security. In his remarks, UNIW Secretary General Ali Kurt emphasized that authentic social security can only be achieved when Muslims establish institutional unity and resolve disputes through sincere dialogue rather than external interventions.
