We Participated in the International Family Forum
As the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (IDSB), we participated in the International Family Forum, organized by the Ministry of Family and Social Services in Istanbul on 22–23 May 2025 under the theme “Protecting and Strengthening the Family in a Globalizing World.”
The forum brought together ministers and high-level representatives from 27 countries to discuss the role of civil society in protecting and strengthening the family structure, opportunities for cooperation, and common challenges facing the Islamic world.
The forum aimed to bring together senior officials, experts, and other stakeholders to promote the protection and strengthening of the institutions of family and marriage, safeguard future generations, and support a strong demographic structure. It also sought to put forward a concrete initiative toward establishing a common stance on the protection of the family institution and family values on international platforms.
The panels held as part of the forum addressed global challenges threatening the family institution and explored potential solutions:
“Mainstreaming Family-Oriented Policies: National and International Efforts”: During this ministerial-level session, global challenges affecting families and possible solutions were discussed.
“Between Fiction and Reality: Family in Culture, Art and Media”: The session addressed the role of art and media in strengthening family values, as well as the transmission of cultural values across generations.
“Being a Family in the Age of Screens”: The impact of digitalization on family structures and potential solutions to emerging challenges were discussed.
“The Myth of Overpopulation: How Has the Global Agenda Contributed to Population Decline?”: Demographic trends and their impact on family structures were evaluated.
