The 7th Elective General Assembly Meeting of the Union of Non-Governmental Organizations of the Islamic World was held on 25 July 2015 at Bahariye Mevlevi Lodge in Istanbul.
In the new period, Atty. While Ali Kurt was re-elected as General Secretary, Eyüp Akbal from Turkey on behalf of MÜSİAD, Ahmed Azam Abdurrahman from Malaysia on behalf of Future Glocal Network Foundation, Prof Dr Abdurrahim Ali Muhammed from Sudan on behalf of Munazzama el'Dava el'İslamiye, and Halid Favvaz on behalf of el'Munteda el'Islami Aid Fund from England were appointed as Deputy General Secretaries.
UNIW, which carries out important work to represent the civil institutionality of the Islamic Union, increased the number of member countries from 55 to 61 and the number of members from 272 to 302 in the direction of Islamic Unity with the 7th General Assembly it held.
